FAQs

How do I know if you’re the right counselor for me?

This is so important; you must feel comfortable with me and I must feel as if I can be of some benefit to you! A referral source will be provided if, at any point, you or I feel we aren’t the best match.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

My initial goal is to bring you comfort and ease as you enter into this process. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. We will work together to decide where you would like to start and I will help guide you every step of the way.

Do I have to come every week?

Life is busy, I get it! Adding another weekly appointment can feel overwhelming. I typically recommend that you commit to weekly sessions for the initial 8-10 weeks, and when appropriate I will recommend attending bi-weekly sessions. We will work together to accommodate your scheduling needs.

How long will it take?

Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?

I value the time and investment you are making for yourself. It is very important to me that you feel your efforts are worthwhile. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.
